Similar to a Emmentaler and Jarlsberg, also known as Swiss cheese. Maasdam is a sweet and nutty swiss style cheese, started the same as a gouda but by adding a special bacteria it is then sealed and placed into a hot house where the bacteria reacts creating the iconic holes and flavour. The base cheese to a fondue.
